Recycling / Homeless

Recycling brings in over $300,000.00 per month in city revenue. Updating our recycling to accommodate Polypropylene #5, PET food bags & and other items could increase more revenue and reduce waste in our landfills.

Locating a sorting center close to the Salvation Army and gospel mission just east of downtown would create an unlimited amount of work for people that are out of work.

The sorting center could be used as a stepping stone for people getting back to work, paying them with vouchers that could be redeemed at the Salvation Army for necessities, new clothes, meals, beds, and the T for transportation.

The trash that is collected from our city parks goes straight to the landfill. We could probably salvage a large portion that would help support locating a simple sorting center complex near downtown to employ the homeless and offer them a pathway back into the private employment market.

Hi, my name is Bob Willoughby.
2023 Candidate for City Council District 5
I have been fortunate to live the life I have lived, and to be a native of Fort Worth. Before 2013, I was just like the 96% of our citizens that do not vote in our local elections. Then I witnessed the immoral behavior of our city’s Code Compliance department. Not willing to simply turn a blind eye, I have been on a path of discovery ever since. The unfortunate conclusion from that journey is that Fort Worth is a cesspool of corruption.

There are, of course, countless things we can do to benefit the city, but first we must restore ethics and morals in our local council. Without that initial change any other action will be irrelevant.

I have taken it on as a personal mission to begin the course correction that is required within City Council. I hope you’ll join me as I strive to make this change a reality!

Please feel free to reach out to me by phone (817.446.7056) or by email (b.willoughby@live.com). I welcome the opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities we face together as a community.© COPYRIGHT 2021. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
