Recycling / Homeless
Recycling brings in over $300,000.00 per month in city revenue. Updating our recycling to accommodate Polypropylene #5, PET food bags & and other items could increase more revenue and reduce waste in our landfills.
Locating a sorting center close to the Salvation Army and gospel mission just east of downtown would create an unlimited amount of work for people that are out of work. The sorting center could be used as a stepping stone for people getting back to work, paying them with vouchers that could be redeemed at the Salvation Army for necessities, new clothes, meals, beds, and the T for transportation. |
